Almanya Federal Cumhuriyeti'nin tarihinde ilk kez bir cumhurbaşkanının dokunulmazlığının kaldırılmasının talep edilmesi üzerine Wulff, öğlen saatlerinde Bellevue Sarayı'nda bir basın toplantısı düzenledi.
Almanya Cumhurbaşkanı, "Bana olan güven zedelendi. Bu yüzden istifa ediyorum" dedi.
